Here’s an exerpt from Avril’s upcoming interview in the March 2008 Maxim:
What can we expect from your upcoming world tour?
I’m so excited because with three records under my belt, I have a lot of singles that people are familiar with. This will be a much bigger production than anything I’ve ever done. The color for this album is pink, so I’ll be playing a pink piano, and there’s a pink drum kit and a bunch of dancers. It’s gonna rock.
In your last interview with Maxim, you were all about clubbing and doing Jäger shots. Is that still a typical night out?
I enjoy partying, sure. But I’m really enjoying wine now. I signed up to be on this wine list where they send you stuff that isn´t sold in stores. I´m a wino now. Last night we drank some Opus One.

Avril Lavigne has never hidden her dislike for the paparazzi. And in the March edition of Maxim, she goes on the offense again - this time while defending Britney Spears. Say Avril: “No one else has it as hard as Britney. I feel bad for her. How does she even think with all those flashbulbs? When I’m being followed, everything’s thrown off. They run red lights. They cause accidents. She can’t even walk to her car. Fucking stalkers.”
In a press conference on February 11, Avril talked about her upcoming fragrance and clothing line:
“The clothing line is something I wanted to do for about three years,” she reported. “A lot of times people do licensing deals, and I didn’t want to do that. I wanted to own the company and really design and be creative. I’m excited because I love clothes, and I love anything visual. I look at it as something new to put my energy into and take a little break, even though I will still be writing. I’ll never stop.”
I’m sure her fans all appreciate her dedication :)
Avril Lavigne had a teleconference yesterday, where she told reporters that a lot of the inspiration for her record “The Best Damn Thing” came from knowing what kind of songs she wanted to play live: ”I wanted to play fast, fun songs. I love playing songs like ‘Sk8er Boi’ onstage because the crowd just reacts, and I love it when everyone is freaking out and jumping. My last record, ‘Under My Skin,’ was pretty mid-tempo and darker, so every song was like bringing down the audience. So I was just wanted to rock, which is why I made a very up-tempo record.”
“The show is going to be very upbeat and the production will be bigger in the sense of dancers during a couple of songs, LED screens, a pink-sparkled drum kit and flags. Over time, I’ve sort of learned how I need to be on stage, and I’m more confident. It’s just more dynamic, brighter and more colorful. I’m excited about it because I’ve been working on the show for a very long time now. And it’s just going to be really fun to finally go play.”
Avril plans on including a cover of Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation” on her tour. Woo-hoo!!
Avril’s husband Deryck Whibley was put on the spot a little bit last night while doing an interview with Pugs & Kelly from the 50th Annual Grammy Awards. First it was facing questioning about his prior relationship with Paris Hilton, then it was Kelly’s question, “Do you plan on being married for the next 50 years?” then it was whether or not Avril’s a good cook. Ouch, yikes, oof! Check it out:

Cone, the bassist from Sum 41 (Avril’s husband’s band for any newcomers), posted an update on the band’s MySpace blog last night, to announce that they had just finished filming a new video for the song “With Me” on Sunday, February 3. It was filmed outside of Toronto and directed by the band’s drummer, Steve. The video will be out within the next few weeks.
I’ll definitely have that video for you guys as soon as it’s released!
